Okay, now that I am back from the soggy Oregon coast, and it looks like the weather is going to be awesome this coming weekend, who is up for a snow run?

Saturday or Sunday works for me, we can go with the majority on which day.

I figured we would try for the fire watch tower on Verdi Peak. :grinpimp:

For those that haven't been, this is a normal 2-wheel drive road in the summer, you just have to add a couple of feet of snow to make it a blast. The view from the fire watch tower is very impressive.

We can meet at the Scolaris (I think) at Robb Drive, just take the westbound 80/Robb drive offramp, make a right at the top and another right and there you are, you can see it from the freeway, that way everyone can top off on fuel at the gas station and supplies at the grocery store.

Meet time 9:00 am? If that works, 9am it is with a departure of 9:15am. If you are going to be late let someone know.

We can caravan out to dog valley and up to the peak from there. Bring a lunch, warm clothes/boots, shovel, at least a tow strap and a way to hook it to your vehicle, both front and rear attachment points.

Anything else that anyone can think of post it up. So let's decide which day Sat/Sun.

See you there.:bounce:

Is there any size requirment for tires, etc.??

Nope, we just usually put the smaller tires toward the rear, so they have less trouble. That is about as much of "limit" as we put. Stock rigs can usually handle this run.

And by the looks of today's weather, there may not be any snow anyway..:crybaby:

You wanna see real wheelin', youtube Gray Rock ORV park. That's the business buddy, mud+rocks=MAN!

Well this won't be the soupy, swallow a vehicle type stuff, more like just enough to get your vehicle filthy type stuff.

I'm talkin' bout something like this........

YouTube - GTJC at Gray Rock ORV Park in AL

My Mom always calls me when they are there to rub it in that I'm not. And the fact that she is ridin' in a YJ on 37 Iroks or a Waggy on 39.5 TSL's! She can be mean sometimes.:crybaby:

And Keith, make sure you get a paper bag when you watch that video, I know you hate the mud and you were getting a bit queezy up on the mountain in the sloppy stuff at Bolivia!! LOL:steer::censor:
If some of those guy caught traction they would have been busting axles and diff's all over the place.

Yep, you are correct. The rocks out here are cool and you get CRAZY traction, but some of the stuff back home is just plain fun. Sometimes your on the gas wide open for 5 minutes and you haven't gone 50 ft. If you check out some of those other videos for Gray Rock, you will see some of the big block tube buggies get'n it good!

Everyone has their chosen terrain for sure, and MUD is NOT mine.
Just not my kind of fun spinnin the tires and going essentially NO WHERE...Not to mention the GOD AWFUL clean up afterwards. I still havent gotten all the mud off from the Bolivia run. Im kinda anal...
I like the rocks for some reason....The expedition stuff is nice too for the scenery, but nothin get my ticker pumpin than when my ass is grabbin for seat and palms are sweating under my CLINCHED, WHITE KNUCKLES going over a boulder I have NO BUSINESS going over.

Yep, everybody has their tastes! When I was first stationed here in 2000, it rained one time and we went out riding. The guys I was with were raving about how muddy it was and what not. I showed them some video of us ridin' back home and they were amazed!

The rocks out here are a blast for sure, but now you probably understand why I get on the SKINNY PEDAL a good bit. Gotsta put on a show.....we do this for fun right?? :bounce::bounce2:
