Thanks, guys. If I get an LC I'll definitely check out the group. We're not much into offroading for the sake of offroading, but we do spend lots of time in Crown King (never done the back way), Senator Hwy, and the Mogollon Rim Road.

See if your Toyota dealer will look it up for you (my local dealer looked up the history of the 2008 I bought before I made the deal...and it was NOT being sold by Toyota. They just looked it up for me.)

Me too, but the Carfax lists it as 1-Owner and Personal. Of course, there is so little info on the Carfax that anything is possible. Rest assured, though, the BMW dealership just replied and guaranteed me it was superbly maintained. They can tell. :)

X2 what TonyP said, get the VIN and go directly to the Toyota website for details, Carfax is just so so sometimes. One limitation of the Toyota website is that if the owner performed maintenance and entered it, it won't show up.
 
Went and looked at the 15 with 62k. Way too rough. Went and looked at a new Blizzard Pearl. Dealership quoted me $93k OTD. Way too high. The search continues.

The new one had 950 miles on it. Almost every "new" LC I see has 1000-6000 miles on it already. Either they get test driven a lot or sales managers can't help but turn them into demos.
 
goldilocks (not too rough, not too high :) ) is out there, if you're patient... and if you're interested in a new '16 or '17, you should be able to find a dealer willing to get very close to invoice - especially on a '16. i had to turn down the local dealer's "this is the best we can do on price" for about a month before they met the price i told them i was willing to pay.

the perfect one is out there. Personally I used cargurus.com. They seemed to show a bunch of LCs and I was able to find a clean one out of AZ. There are a lot of gently used low mile LCs out there, you might have to be willing to purchase online or fly and drive but they are out there.

I was thinking about that first one, but I really want to hold out for a Magnetic Gray. The second one...red is a definite no go. I prefer 'tones' to 'colors'. :)

From my experience, a lot of them get turned into demos for people at the dealership--owners family.
 
My sister is looking for a 4Runner, so I went with her to look at a 16 Trail Premium. It's overall a nice vehicle, but I sat in the back during the test drive and couldn't believe how loud it was! Really shows the difference in sound insulation and general road noise between it and the LC (even compared with the 100). The power seemed a bit weak driving up the steep hill into the mountains as well considering it wasn't loaded down at all other than 3 people inside. I'd imagine any type of build would require gears. Of course comparing it to a new 200 at double the cost isn't fair, but it's been years since I've been in a 5th gen so it was a reminder of the differences. For the same money I'd choose a used 200 over a new or close to new 4Runner, but that's not what a lot of people including my sister would do. I asked her if the LC was too soccer mom for her, and she said no...it's too grandpa LOL. Whatever!

The deal is falling through due to the logistics of buying a vehicle in CA that will be registered in AZ. The salesman I'm working with is not real familiar with the process and is making it sound like a nightmare I really don't want to deal with. Anyone done this and know how it actually works?

Buy car, drive home on temp tags, the dealer sends the documents to the DMV by your house, register car in home state, pay taxes (weep a little) .

That was the process when I bought my 200 from KC.
