Too far north. Too far east.
The motor is in! But, I need to get the pallet lifted off Dan's dock and onto Larry's trailer. Anybody available tomorrow afternoon, say around 2:00 or 3:00 to help? It weights 450lbs so I will need a few guys.

It looks even better in person. ;)

DUDE! you gotta paint the 40 the color to match the engine! this pic has a great color to it. it's gotta be close to the sky blue. that is way pretty compared to the light blue in the spy pics. :grinpimp:

too bad i'm working. i want to see it now.

And you gave me and Greg a hard time for trying to colour match the curtains for the back of the 80.
Matching :princess: paint on a trail rig is just so wrong.

Sounds like notice was too short. Is there a day next week where folks would be available?

No, tomorrow is probably good. I might have additional volunteers. Do you have a hoist you can put on Larry's trailer and take to American? How much does it weigh?

The trucking company said 450 lbs.

Here is the picture. The motor is inside Dan's store. It was off-loaded at his loading dock. It needs to be pushed back from where it sits to the dock, lifted down off the dock to the trailer, then pushed centered on the trailer. The only hard part will be lowering it down off the dock about 3 feet which is what I need the help with. Dan said he doesn't have a pallet jack so it's all by hand. There really isn't anyway to use a hoist to lower it down. That would only let us move it to the dock, or move it on the trailer. I think in both cases it would be easier to just push it.

I have Greg's hoist at home to help get it off the trailer, but it will need to be pushed to the back end to be hooked up.

How did they get it in there? Anyway, a couple of dollys would help - I have one. Got a couple of 2x12's x 10' long to slide it down? How tall is the dock anyway? I have a trailer that sits 36" high. 450 lbs isn't that much.

Lots of options. 2:00?

If anyone else can swing by it would be appreciated, but I think we can swing it one way or another.

According to our dock expert (Pierrette) docks are standard at 5 feet. Larry and I will bring a hoist just in case it proves useful. His trailer is low which will make it easier to crane off when we back into the garage. The motor was off-loaded from a truck. I can bring a dolly too. Larry and I will try to be back by 2:00.

Sounds good. See you there.

Wish I could help but I made a mad dash to the in-laws in Denver during the break in the weather. See you guys "next year".

sorry, curtains still only qualify as interior decorating and therefore :princess: Gay.:flipoff2:

Can you get the motor, on its pallet, out of the parts dept. and into the service dept?

At Karl Malone, we've been known to drag an engine out to the service bay, and use one arm of a vehicle lift to hoist an engine up in the air so a trailer or truck bed can be backed under it.

If you can wrestle it out into the service dept, I can come over with my F250 and we can set it in the bed. Its way easier to maneuver a pickup in the service bays than a pickup AND a trailer.

I'm off Tuesday and Wednesday next week if that helps...

Ryan

Well, we got it onto the trailer. That's all I know...
