I need a brake booster for my '78

Does anyone have a brake booster that you would be willing to sell? It looks like mine is going out. I think they are all the same, but it is for a fj40.

junkyard, just about any minitruck 2wd or 4wd should fit. I can't remember if celicas fit also or not. i've put boosters out of tons of toyotas on 40's. if it has a spacer grab it cause the rod will be too long if you don't you can thread it on down to shorten it if you want tho I think.

I went to pick n pull on saturday and didn't see anything that was even close. There was even a 4 runner, and it looked about half the size of the one on my 40. Would they still work?

yes.. if your really worried holler.. i know I have a booster in the shop sitting on the shelf. Call the TLCA phone # located in your trails magazine. Most of the others are thinner than the stock one.

My concern was how much flex the lines coming from the master cylinder had, I didn't want to end up puttig a kink in one of them when mating it to the new booster. But I got a replacement booster yesterday from another MUD member off of a 40, we'll see if it makes a difference.
