John- I still have that new one from Heritage Sheet Metal here in Delta that I was telling you about.........;)

I won't be using it anytime soon and I would love to get rid of it.

What is a stout bed

Here is a picture of the bed that came with it.

the stout tailgate chains are almost identical to 45 chains, same hook and mount but 1 link too long.

I happen to be making a LWB bed from scratch in a "1978 style" for a Mud member in Colorado over the next three or four weeks (ok, maybe five). I am making one for myself at the same time and these will be my first "prototype" attempts with a few relatively minor discrepancies compared to original. If you're not looking for concours correct I would love to make one for you. Let me know if you're interested.

Well I don't quite know yet. I am buiding the prototype right now and really should finish before I decide on an asking price. I am hoping to keep it under $3000. If you have a little time before you need it just keep watching my thread(s) as I progress. If you're wanting one I could always sell you mine and make another one (as I mentioned in the post above I am making two to start). The other one is going to Colorado and we (the buyer and I) have a tentative deal where we meet in Montana and he hauls it South. That would keep your shipping to a minimum if you were to split the cost of fuel etc. There is also US customs to pay but I am not certain of the duty. It may be 2.5% but I haven't confirmed that yet.

Feel free to send me a PM for more info.

Good for you . I will of course be posting up in my thread as I work towards a final selling price. A side note: if your new bed needs any patch panels etc. I will also be able to supply parts and pieces of the beds.
