I have an original radio from my FJ 60 that I’m selling. I’m not sure what it’s worth but I’ve seen some on eBay selling for an outrageous amount lol. The guy I bought the truck from was restoring it and paid $800 for the radio. I’m not looking to restore it to factory specs so I’ll put an aftermarket radio in and use the money for other items the truck needs. How much should I be trying to get out of it? It looks almost brand new.

Well, this is the wrong section for stuff being sold, should be in Classifieds, but to hell with the radio - I wanna see pix of a cruiser that someone would sink $800 for a stock radio! :D

Anyway, welcome.

I turned down an offer of 600.00 on mine in the SAR rig I bought the other day. There was/is one on Ebay for 1100.00.

I'm not saying it's not worth it to someone wanting a perfect resto, just not to me - But I'd like to see the restored truck where an $800 stock radio was in the budget :) Must be a nice truck!

I suppose it's my way of dealing with the two I tossed in the trash!! :crybaby:

The street price for a few years has been around $300-500, but I can see a eBay/auction/crazy situation driving that up to 600 or so.

Every single Factory TOYOTA Radio i Repair , Refurbish or Restore

then gets a comprehensive Bench Test for all proper function

and correct and present interior illumination Via a LIVE YouTube Video

i then post with the Radio as supporting documentation

that Everything is Everything ...........

you mention above ( in so many words ) , your desire to obtain top

dollar , and how nice its physical condition is

if you back that all up with a LIVE bench test Video , folks can see prior to

a purchase , then your expectations will be the same or similar to your

Results post sale .........

How time changes things. Undoubtably tens of thousands of these perfectly functioning junky radios were pried out of the dash & tossed in the trash during an upgrade with the only thought being good riddance to that POS.
Now 30 years later, those same junky radios are coveted and selling for $1000.

Hello- it's the same junky radio nobody wanted 25 years ago!

classifieds for sale items, this is tech,

not sure what the value is on the radio but the face plate is the big item missing from many radios and that is what will drive up the price.

That radio, 86120-89118, was also used in early 80s mini trucks.

Exactly why there’s a premium for them. Not many have stock radios left in them, and people who want original trucks pay big money.
