I sold my 80 a few weeks ago and have been looking for a 100 and I think I found my unicorn. I'll give you some details and if you don't mind, please tell me what you think the price should be.

1999 with 98,000 miles
Factory rear e-locker
Front ARB air locker with 80 series switch
Re-geared to 4.88
OME spring, shocks, torsion bars, and diff drop
35" BFG KO's with about 50% tread
Brand new set of White Knuckle sliders ( not installed but are included )
ARB front bull bar with 9.5 Warn winch
Rear bar with spare swing out ( not sure of brand )
42 gallon transfer tank
Dual batteries
ARB frig/freezer
Full roof rack
Electronics include CB, Ham radio, scan gauge
Fresh water storage system with pump

Cruiser is rust free, body is not perfect, it's been used but always been garage kept .

It is due a timing belt and water pump but that's about it. I have pics but would rather not post them. I'm afraid someone may know the cruiser and then I'm up against 2 or 3 other guys and then the price goes up. The current owner reached out to me when I had my 80 up for trade for a 100 is the only reason I know about it. If I were to write a list of the perfect 100 for me, this would be the one. I've been trying to figure out what a 99 cruiser with 98,000 miles would be worth on it's own and then the cost of the mods, it comes up to a whole lot more than I can buy this one for but then again, these mods are probably 10 - 12 years old so that brings the value down.

Not that I'll ever sell it but I want to make sure I'm not paying too much either.

Thanks for your help.............John

I don't mean to be glib, but I'm an economist, so here is my answer: it's worth what you'd be happy having paid for it. Seriously. You sound smart enough about these rigs not be swindled, so you don't need someone else to talk you out of it because they saw a better deal in Portland 3 weeks ago.

Sounds like you want it, and seem to think it's a compelling offer. Buy it, enjoy it and don't bother checking any listings for 3 months because why second guess a decision you're happy with?

But since you asked, I'll throw a number out - $12,000

Good LORD, MAN...BUY that rig! There's at least $12k in gear listed there... 98k miles?!? Thats an average of 5800 a year...unbelievable. That rig is fully stocked and virtually new (at least for a 100). NADA is probably your best guide for an accurate value of the 100 without the upgrades. They have your rig-to-be priced at $9k for a clean trade-in value. Clean retail is about $12k. Figure half of retail on the upgraded gear ($6-7k) plus a number somewhere between clean retail and clean trade-in.

Ultimately, pay what your willing to pay...then spend many, many years enjoying it!

I would pay up to 17k for that rig and be happy.

Yep.

Truck itself without anything on it would bring $10,000-$12,000 with sub-100K miles in this market. Add up the mods, take 50% off them, you still up in this price range.

I agree with @farmerjoe, it's really up to you on what you are willing to pay if you think it's a good buy ask him how much then you can bargain.

He started at $21,000, right now he's at $19,350 and that's delivered to me from AZ to east TN. I know the 80 is a little more in the collector stage than the 100 but I got $16,000 for my 80 with 169,000 miles and several nice mods. I'm looking at my 80 for $16,000 and the 100 seems like a deal to get it for $3000 more than what my old 80 brought. I did some research through the old 100 series classifieds and looks like similar 100's brought between $13,000 - $15,000 but most of those had between 160,000 - 200,000 miles. I feel like $19,350 is on the high side but then again, where am I going to find one like this with those mile? I would say they're few and far between.

Thanks for your opinions, keep them coming

i think the price is fair. Great deal no but good sometimes better to pay up front than later.

I bought just about the same truck with 150k miles on it. For $17k 3 yrs ago and I would not take less than 20k for it today. Only difference is gears and it had 33s. That truck has a lot of electronics and a ARB fridge.

I'd offer $17k by check or even cash if buyer desired. You're looking at < $3K ahead of that number, or just about 15% past what you'd like to pay. There's also something to be said for a ready-to-go trail monster, v. planning, buying, and installing all the toys. I'd look at it knowing all I had to do was continue scheduled maintenance, fill it with gas, and drive the daylights out of it. ;)

Based on some checking I did about transporting vehicles across the country, I'd say a swag on the trip charges should be around mileage 1 way x 0.6 or so $$.

That rig is basically the same as mine, minus swing out, long rang tank, and 35's (I have 33's), oh and 160,000 fewer miles! I bought mine stock for 7k (having never seen dirt), and did all the rest full retail (north of $20K in upgrades). To have the same rig for less than $20K with less than 100K on the clock? I'd do it all over again. :)

I'll add after thinking about this truck for a few hours...

Had I not just picked up a new-to-me '13 Cruiser, I'd be sorely tempted to fly into Little Rock and drive the thing home. I'm still tempted if OP passes.

OP, this appears to be a once in a lifetime deal. I'd proceed accordingly, if you can get a deal together.

I posted this because I knew you guys would make me feel better about spending the money ;)

Waiting on seller to send me more detailed pics but pretty sure I will buy it

You may have a queasy stomach once you spend the $$$. I'd expect to have that cleared up after you've owned the truck for a few minutes. ;)

Congratulations. Pics will be required once you buy her.

I cant wait when the 100s hits collector status , of course 99 is the best year just sayin

Just my thoughts - I'd go as high as $18k. Any higher and I'd be looking for a 07-08, 200 series. I bought my 06' for $17k in December. I'm very happy with it but I was close to spending another $9k to get the 200 series.

Sounds like you have sort of answered your own question. I've bought things out from under other people dawdling like this. If it is a good deal, then buy it.

I know I can buy a newer 100 for what I will spend on this one but would be hard pressed to find one with less than 100,000 miles. This won't be a DD, mostly a weekend rig so having the equipment means more to me than the year model. If I spent $18,000 on say a 2006, after mods, I'll have $30,000 or more in it. Buying a 200 series with 100,000 miles will be $35,000 plus, add mods and I'm in the $47,000 range. The 99 has always been my favorite year for the 100, still has the rear locker option and you get rear AC. The weak link in the 98 and 99 is the front diff but this one has the ARB in the front so I would be good to go. Unless something better pops up in the next week, I'm going to pull the trigger on this one. Just waiting on more detailed pictures, after that the hard part will be waiting until it gets here. I think the $300 delivery charge is a bargain compared to shipping at $1000 plus. At least this way I get to check it out and drive it before I hand over the rest of the cash but it will cost me a $1000 non refundable deposit which is only fair for someone making that drive.

My wife says I'm not a trigger puller, seems you have nailed my weak spot. I've bought a lot of real estate over the years but my due diligence has cost me some deals that I have regretted. Sometimes you have to go for it and trust your gut but I like research.

The truck *may* be a little pricey, but it is what you want.....and another will probably not come along in the near future. I found a nice one myself, pretty close to what I wanted, just thought it was a couple grand more than I wanted to pay for it. So I bought it and have been wheeling it with a big grin on my face since....

That's a very true statement. The chances of me finding another rig like this is probably very slim. I don't have time to do the work so when I look at mods, I also have to consider the labor charges to install and when I do that, this one seems like an even better deal. Just re-gearing and the front locker would probably be in the $3500 range for parts and labor.
