I did the Rubicon today, no sliders, no lift!

Yep Rubicon Trail was tore up by a stock 100 today!

I even have some pictures to prove it.

At the end of the trail, Lake Tahoe is just over the ridge there.

One of the tougher parts of the trail today, didn't even lock up the center diff!

And for those doubters

I don't get it.....

Wasn't really that tough.

Now Ski Run Blvd a few "trails" north of Rubicon Trail has some NASTY hill climbs and a few pot holes even!

You should be able to make it easily up that road, past 2 or three lakes, to where the real Rubicon trail connects up with that road. I've done it a couple times with other vehicles (see signature).

As for the Rubicon itself, just walking into it for a few hundred yards and seeing all the oil, discarded parts, and scraped up rocks was enough to make me come to my senses. Ok for a trail rig, but I got to drive home!

ROTFLMAO!!! :D

Thanks for brightening up my evening after watching the Kings crumple under the Spurs tonight. :crybaby:

Did you get around the pine cone in pic #3?? Thats insane man!!!

WOW !

To come away from a trail like that unscathed is a true testament to the 100`s abilities ! ;p

Yep I was pretty proud. Now I've heard there is a dirt version of rubicon trail I should try too but I don't think i'm ready yet.

;)

Nope. Sadly the IFS on the 100 wasn't up to the task. I heard some nasty creaking and snapping and I freaked. So I backed up and took another line.

:bounce:

But, did you spill your latte?

Nope didn't have time. I had just dropped the wife and kids off at the mall so I thought I would try to get some "wheelin" done.

;)

I thought you guys would have fun with this.

I was up in Lake Tahoe for business and saw the street sign and couldn't pass it up. :)

My buddie's cabin is just a half mile up from there on 89. Man I love it out there! What was the snow level like?

It's about 7k right now give or take a few hundred feet. Bottom runs of heavenly are already showing bare spots.

We had TONS of snow this year but this insanely good weather right now is melting the stuff up pretty quick. Down here in the Carson valley the rivers are running a "tad bit" high right now.

I was going to hit a local trail that has a river crossing this weekend but I don't think I can do it with how high the rivers are.

Nice. I can't wait to get out and do some fly fishing. It should be good this year! Maybe by June it will have melted off enough to get back there.

Oh, and back to the 'con - you really should stop at Starbucks first next time you head out. They have a drive through now-a-days and you'll clear it just fine since your rig is stock...

eh, eh, off to its proper place, in the Trails section! :)

Hee, hee... I drove by there last Friday in my 55, thought about taking the same picture, but a beer was waiting for me a bit further down the road...
