I just dropped the Cruiser off at the exhaust shop to get the belly button fixed. The aftermarket exhaust was routed below the frame rail. It was just a lazy shop but somewhat understandable since that's the way the original exhaust was routed. The fact that at the lowest point in the bend, they welded in the bung for the O2 sensor is ridiculous. Standing back, the lowest point underneath the midpoint of the cruiser was the O2 sensor.

The exhaust shop is lifting the cat up, routing the exhaust properly over the frame rail, and even installing a heat shield where the bend on the exhaust is close to the body.

After offroading one time, the cup that protects the O2 sensor had some weeds hanging from it. The cruiser looked like this:

Nice, I got the same thing done. Had I know you needed some exhaust work, I would have recommended Henry's Muffler's in Raleigh. They do great work with great prices and however you want it routed.

Henry's did the previous work.

R & J Mechanics in Apex were awesome. I made it clear that I wasn't in a rush but needed the truck done before this weekend but I got a call at 10:11AM the next day that the Cruiser was done. The cat is tucked high up near the body and the exhaust tubing wraps around the aluminum body mount. Extra heat shields were added to the bend that closes to the body and on the back side of the down pipe.

May I ask what that cost you?

$250.
2 hrs labor
2 O2 bungs
2 heat shields

What's more important to me is the quality of the work.

Thats one sweet tuck! I am surprised that Henry's couldn't do that for you. I didnt think about shortening up the y pipe but they were happy to route it over the frame and new piping all the way back.
