I am looking at replacing the rubber seals on the sliding windows. Does anyone have any experience replacing these? I'm unsure whether I need to replace every component of the window or just order the large rubber seals that have shrunk. Any good suggestions on where to acquire these parts would help as well. Cheers

Try amayama.com and jp-carparts.com jp-carparts has diagrams.

You should double check but I think these are the right numbers for the rubber in the frame around the glass.
RUN, QUARTER WINDOW, RH 62755-90K01
RUN, QUARTER WINDOW, LH 62756-90K01

This seems to be the rubber between the metal frame and the FRP top.
WEATHERSTRIP, QUARTER WINDOW, OUTER RH 62793-90K00
WEATHERSTRIP, QUARTER WINDOW, OUTER LH 62794-90K00

There are also a few other threads on this in the 70s section if you do some searching.

Hey thanks for the reply.

Yes i think they are right, I will have to replace the rubbers on the inside as well, they've also shrunken.

I never did find one of the frame to FRP seals.
Instead, I left the top off in the barn and use my convertible top all year round.

Did you ever find all the parts necessary? it seems as if some of the parts required to replace all seals on a MWB 70 series are discontinued. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the only option owners of a MWB 70 with FRP top have is to go with an aftermarket window system.

No I didn’t, I’m not confident in ordering apart number or even sure if it’s the right one. I’ve kinda just put it on the back burner of things to do atm, and yea I may have to get some sort of custom job done.

The best diagrams are on Partsouq, and they ship the fastest. You can get all the part numbers there, anything they don’t have you can often get on megazip, which takes longer, because they list parts they don’t actually have in stock. Every part I’ve ordered so far has shipped. There’s one NLA part which is a gasket type seal between the edge of the frame and the frp, but you don’t need it from what I’ve seen, or you can just fill it in with caulk. This thread covers this subject the most I think, although there are several more.

Thanks for the info I will follow this up and update on my progress. Cheers

I have yet to see a good solution on ih8mud for the issue it seems many 70 series owners have with the FRP sliding windows. My HZJ73 has the same issues it seem like many have. Corroding metal frames and shrunken leaking seals. Would anyone out east ever consider taking their truck to these guys (see link below) to have some windows made and installed. I would jump on board for an order of some windows they could manufacture for us and have them shipped out here for a local install. I live in Utah so it isn't practical for me to go to Pennsylvania or else I would volunteer.
