I have been looking into the HP Tuners software package and am bleary eyed. Does anyone have any experience with this program or any other type of tuner program

I am looking to be able to flash ECUs on the swaps that I do and perhaps also use it on a run in stand. Right now just in the research phase and much of this is outside my computer knowledge, at least for now.

Here is the problem. The hardware for tuning the LSX or Vortec motors is really not that expensive. But the licenses you buy for the ECU's are. And most likely than not you will never get the same year, make and model ecu doing your swaps. So you would have to buy a license for every different ecu. There are a ton of them. Best thing to do is have a tuner come to you and do the changes.

GM doesn't make it easy but Toyota makes it impossible.

Thanks Marshal, I am a currently sending my ECUs and harness off to be flashed to specific vehicle parameters and that is just fine, cuts pout tuning afterward unless the customer wants to change something. Just have some interests that the HP tuner might work out well for. I know a guy at GM, I'll ask him about the different ECUs etc.
