How’s the second row legroom?

Considering a 2016+ LC. Starting the research now, and was disappointed to see on paper the 200 series LC has only 34.4 “ of second row legroom. Is this correct? Measured with the front seat pushed back and the second row pushed up? Are people finding it tight? Every YouTube review I’ve seen never seems to mention second row rear legroom as being an issue; in fact I hear reviews say the opposite (one can fit basketball players in the second row, etc). I know, I need to check it out in the flesh, but wanted to get some opinions as well. Thanks

Same as the 100 and not as much as the Sequioa.

@vantage78 Second row legroom is acceptable for most. I find myself moving the front seats up a little to accommodate rear passengers more comfortably. I'm 6'2" and have the driver seat all the way back for daily driving. I don't recommend anyone over 5'8" to sit behind me. Conversely, I am very comfortable in the 2nd row behind someone 5'8" or shorter.

As others will likely say, there are other vehicles in the large SUV class that have more ample 2nd row legroom. If you're freaked by the 2nd row, don't even look at 3rd row legroom- haha!

I have had 8 people in my 2016 LC (including myself), all 5'10 - 6, and all said everything was fine for a 45 minute drive, no problems. I was very surprised the folks in the third row said it was not an issue at all when I asked for their honest opinion, they enjoyed the ride.

Like you said... Go have a look in person. But make sure you slide the second row back!! :)

-I've been surprised over the years how many people do not realize the 2nd row seats can slide forward and back (obviously you do know...but I mention it because I wonder if some of those reports are from people who didn't realize they slide back).

My 2¢ - I am 6'5". I bought the 2016 20K miles ago and never had the occasion to sit in the rear seat. We were out visiting a friend on a long road trip and she was strongly considering a new 200 series to replace her Yukon. I let her drive it around, my wife was sitting up front and I was in the back for the first time.

Our friend that was driving 5' 4" but sitting behind here as amazing! Back seats were super comfortable, visibility is good, headroom is good. So it really all depends on what you have in the front seat if you are judging the backseat legroom!

Now all I need to do is hire a 5'4" driver for the city.....

This is so true, it's who's in the front seat that really matters, I'm 6'4, I wouldn't want to sit behind myself in the backseat:D My wife is 5'2, if I'm sitting behind her it's like being in a limo, kind of not kidding:)

<- THIS is super accurate. I never sat in the rear until I let my friend (considering a move from a Q7 during the TDI buyback) drive my 200. Fortunately for me, he was about 5'7" or so. The rear seats are very comfortable IMO. Added to the fact they both adjust rearwards, as previously mentioned, plus the reclining and heated aspects of the 2nd row- Pop in a movie and I'm good to go anywhere!

I have never heard a single complaint by anyone sitting in the second row. My 14 and 11yr.old were sad when I sold the LC. They found the suv to be very roomy.

I've never had any issues. If you want mega leg room, your best bet is an F-150. But that brings a host of other issues. I'd say the best adjective is that it's "adequate".

Its funny you mention that... I went from an F150 KR SCREW to a LC 200. LOVE the LC, and I'll put up with the diminished (by comparison) 2nd row room for all the other advantages my LC brings long term.

I find all 3 rows of seats to be quite comfortable. I've taken a complete carful on 3+ hr drives off-road and never had any complaints. Recently I had my 69 yr old mother-in-law join us for a month here in Angola. She's had one hip replacement and sat in the second row for days doing off-road driving. She said it was a really comfortable ride and never felt fatigued or any discomfort, despite all of the rough roads. As all the others have said, take a look at one yourself. Go for a drive and then be the passenger. I think you'll be quite pleased.

Thanks to all for the replies. Finally sat in a 2017 today. Second row legroom wasn’t bad at all, with the driver’s seat adjusted to a 5’9” driving position. Didn’t feel like 34.4” for sure! The fact that you could recline the second row made it more comfortable. Without the rear entertainment screens, it would seem even more spacious; just an overall feeling, not based on fact :). Will need to double check if the car seats can fit rear facing.

Also, I noticed the interior door pull; beefy as heck. Very solid feeling. Generally describes the overall cabin. Terra leather looked and felt great. Didn’t have a chance to test drive, but looking forward to it.
