Vehicle is a '99 LC, it's my sister's. I replaced the front rotors, pads, etc probably 8 months ago, how the rear brakes are pulsating and rear rotors appear (and according to the dealer) are warped badly, pads almost gone, etc. The warping (or non-uniform deposits or whatever you want to call it) does pulsate the brakes, similar, although not as bad, as what the front brakes did. I suspect this is fairly normal, I know Christo told me the rear rotors are much more likely to warp than the front, and the fronts mostly went bad because of the extreme rust, so replacing the rears now sounds about right.
I did not pull a rear tire off the vehicle last time I was out there, so didn't get a chance to look at the rear brakes. How tough are the rear brakes to do? Since it's a semi-float axle there is no hub to deal with right? I'm having trouble picturing it, since the only rear disc vehicle I've seen was an 80 with the rear hub.
So if it's not hard at all I'll do a writeup and have my sister actually do the work herself. The front was a pain, but I know the rears are alot simpler.
What ya'll think? Any diagrams of the layout of the rear brakes?
Thanks,
Mark
