I’ve got a 2020 LX 570. I want to leave the rear tailgate open while I’m out on the beach fishing, but there is a light on the right side near the tailgate that says on, even though I have the door light disabled. Any idea how to turn this light off? There doesn’t appear to be any switch near the light fixture.

You're talking about the light just below the 3rd row raise/lower switches?

Yours doesn't have a rocker switch built into the light?

Take a screwdriver and snap the latch closed on the tailgate. The truck will think its closed and shut it off.

same thing on a 2017 200., No switch for it, and it does stay on for a while but eventually turns off after 10 minutes or so.. can't remember exactly. but I do leave the tail gate open at camp usually..

I believe it is LED on the newer LX and does not draw much power. If you find out how much time it takes to turn off please report back.
It's mildy annoying for camping if you want to keep the trunk open.

Low tech solution but I keep a roll of gaffers tape and have used it for situations like this before. Bright status/charge lights for gear bug me when I'm car camping so sometimes they get a little tape.

My concern is the battery draw not the light.

I think someone said it's LED which should have negligible draw. You could also just take the bulb out? I think someone said it will turn off after some time?

On my 18LX the light stays on. Found out about a year ago at the drive-in movies - really annoying. My wife’s 2019 RX350 has 3 of these lights in the trunk - all with its own switches. I tried to swap one of them into my LX but its a different size - so did not fit.

I don't know if this area use the common 168 bulb,
maybe can get this bulb and use the remote to turn off when needed.

Mine doesn’t seem to turn off unless I close the hatch.
