I am having an ignition problem in my 94' V-6 4X4 truck and I suspect my ignitor or coil. I wanted to know how to test the two, which terminals to measure resistance through and what the resistance is supposed to be? I have an FJ-62, FJ-55, and FZJ-80 so if it is similar to those then I can follow my FSM but i don;t have the FSM for the 3VZE and I don;t want to wait until Monday to start diagnosing. Thanks.

As far as actual test procedures IHNI, but I always took the coil wire off the distributer and set it against the engine block where you can see it, then have someone turn over the engine while you watch for spark. If you have power to the coil and a good ground, and a good plug wire(check resistance, should be very very low if any) and no spark at the end of the wire then you have a bad coil. I hope this helps.

Where in CA are you?
