If that is the case I can understand why OX never produced one for the Toyota

Still wondering if this is a stock axle that has been modified or has it been replaced during the years?
btw. whats an Ox locker?

Post up some pix of the front of the diff so we can see if it is even close to OEM. John

I found a pic of the previous owner in a blog today through Google. I posted a comment there that i wanted to get in contact with him, hopefully he will answer all the questions

thanks for the clarification i was comparing it to a lunchbox locker .
so does it only power the one wheel in the unlocked position ,the same wheel all the time i mean ,or can the power transfer from one wheel to the other doesn't look like it can with that axle being disconnected. :grinpimp:

Nothing like an autolocker. When the collar isn't engaged, both axle shafts are still connected to the spider gears in the carrier, so it operates like a standard open diff. When the collar engages the splines of the axle shaft AND the carrier, it locks those two together, effectively locking the other side as well since one side can't spin relative to the carrier without both of them spinning.
