Okay I just replaced timing belt.
Drove car around block and car is overheating
What is the proper way to replace coolant?

Did you check / replace water pump or anything else while in there? Make certain you didn't drop anything in the cooling system and remove any rags you had plugging or covering the inlets?

Other than that, typically just fill it all the way, start her up and let it come up to temp with the radiator cap off and checking to see if the coolant level drops and topping off as necessary. Once warmed up make sure the overflow is roughly 2/3 full, put the cap on and let it idle in the driveway while keeping an eye on the temp.

If still having issues, time to check thermostat and hope the water pump hasn't decided to go kaput.

Good luck!

Replaced timing belt and car is overheating?
Not sure if I added coolant properly?
I filled radiator to top and drove?
I hope I am doing something wrong?
Otherwise I may have other issues!

Did you replace the water pump and are you sure you routed the timing belt correctly to drive the pump?

Let it cool and check the coolant level. You may have had an airlock in the cooling system and after it "burped" it may be low on coolant.

I see you posted the same question a short time ago. The advice in that thread didn't work?

I don't think one can route it wrong and have the engine run in order to overheat.

It's prob a air pocket, unless someone stuck paper towels in the coolant openings in the block and forgot it when they slapped on the new water pump lol

I have a funnel and after each tbelt/water pump job, I run it until it's pumping out some serious heat on high. Then I let it cool so it would take in more coolant.

Okay sorry about double post, I tried to edit and delete.
Must have missed that option.
I replaced everything during timing belt job.
Thinking same thing. How could the car run if I had routed timing belt incorrectly?
How do u burp system, is there a bleedvalve ?
