How to remove old paint w/o damaging paint underneath? (1 Viewer)

I just bought an ‘81 BJ42 which at some point was painted red over the original beige paint. I can see areas of the red paint flaking off exposing the original beige paint which looks to be in good condition.

What is the best method/product to use in order to remove the old red paint without damaging or at least minimizing damage to the original beige paint?
