My truck has a nasty sounding "knock" and I need to pull it into the garage 100yds or so, to do the diagnostic tests. Is there a way to disable the high rpms at startup to prevent making things worse? Or just run it and hope for the best? This already sounds expensive and I don't want to make it worse.

Thanks

Whatever the problem is starting it 1 more time won't make the difference between needing a rebuild or not. Just start it and go.

I started it up, no big deal. You're right, won't make a difference!
