How to prevent chipped paint when installing hardtop and on door jambs?

Just getting ready to repaint my 71. I'm concerned that after I spend $3k to get it painted, the first time I close the doors or remove or install the hardtop the paint will get all chipped up on the edges. Do you all use any edge trim on the tub, jambs or windshield edge to prevent this?

I'm having the shop Raptor line the interior as well so was thinking about extending the liner over the areas I'm concerned about. But not sure I'd like how it looks...

My top has zero weather stripping, but will have all new after paint.
On areas like the windshield it's just metal on metal though, no room for rubber or anything that I see?

i'm assuming on the windshield frame that you're talking where it bolts to the front, because there is rubber on the top. you could put a piece of masking tape on there. you could do the same on the edges of the top when you remove it too.

There is stock weatherstripping/molding for the areas where the hardtop sides meet the body. There is also weatherstripping for where it meets the windshield.
