Hi Kurt - sorry to dig up such an old thread...I'm getting ready to swap out the AHC for an OME setup on my 06 LX. Are you saying just pull the AHC ECU, Leave the fuses? Will I still have VSC and Telescoping steering wheel? Just want to get the AHC out and still have a reliable rig. Thanks!Adding some additional info here. We did a full AHC removal on a 2006 LX470 today, pump, lines, globes, shocks, etc. (OME installed). All fine and dandy there. But rather than pull the underhood AHC fuse, relay and AHC-B fuse in the kick panel. We first removed the AHC ECU and sure enough that killed all of the lights. We pulled the fuses just to be on the safe side so dead leads were not being powered.
However, after re-connecting the battery we were getting the flashing VSRG (variable steering ratio gear) light. Drove it out of the shop en route to the alignment shop and it reset itself. I had the alignment shop verify calibration when they did the alignment. Turned out really nice.

I unplugged both plugs, now I have lights on all of the time on my dash. Didi you unplug the top or bottom plug on the ecu? they look the same.Ditched my AHC system on my 2000 LX470 so I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the AHC plug for people who want to get rid of the flashing light on the dash.
Here's a picture of the ECU (located just above the accelerator pedal) and the plug:

It is really tight quarters in there, and I couldn't fit my hand in there to get a good enough grip on the plug so I used these locking needle nose pliers to clamp down on the length of the plug and then wiggle it out:

When I removed my AHC System and converted my 2001 LX470 to Toyota LC Suspension I did the following to disconnect the AHC System;
1. Disconnect the battery
2. Pulled the AHC-B 15 AMP Fuse from the interior driver's side kick panel fuse box.
3. Pulled the AHC 50 AMP Fuse from the engine compartment fuse box.
4. Unplugged and removed the AHC ECU from under the steering wheel, above the accelerator pedal.
5. Reconnected the battery.
No flashing warning lights.
I also removed the gauge cluster clear cover and painted over the little truck icon, then put a piece of matte black tape over the paint.
Brock is correct in not removing the AHC-IG 20 AMP Fuse in the kick panel fuse box. This will disconnect the VSC system and give the VSC warning lights on the dash.
Hope this helps.

Can someone confirm that this is all that's necessary to eliminate AHC dash light? Why are some people saying to touch fuses, etc.?Ditched my AHC system on my 2000 LX470 so I thought I would post a couple of pictures of the AHC plug for people who want to get rid of the flashing light on the dash.

Thanks. Any specific reason you pulled the 50A fuses while others say to not touch them because it affects the VSC system? It’s so weird that everybody is doing something different.A few months late @Kabanstva , but I just pulled the lower AHC CPU plug on my LX470.
I left the 20A and pulled the 50A fuses.
VGRS lights up then turns off after all the idiot lights initialize as it should. So apparently it's working fine.
I thought pulling the CPU plug would just turn off the height indicator light. Nope....it killed the entire AHC display. It's as if my LX470 was never equipped with it. View attachment 1977896 Nice!
I haven't started it yet, the battery went flat while installing the lift. It's charging now.
I’m about to finally do this and don’t want to mess anything up haha.
Hate to bring this old thread back up, but I wanted to check with you to see if years later, this was indeed the fix with no other issues discovered later.Bringing this back to update with my “remedy”.
I reviewed the wiring and the “off” signal goes through connector IU2. I just focused on that since it’s all I need at the moment.

Drop your glove box and you will see the IU2 connector on the right.

For my 99 LX, the middle black w/ red wire was the signal so I cut it.

I haven’t removed the height sensors yet but I might feed a steady signal to keep it in “HI”.

Only tool needed was a pocket knife. Just tape it up when done.
