I have 1996 LC, no locker, thinking about downgrading, so I am considering private selling it.

I would say exterior is good to fair as is the inside (I have seat covers on the front seats. Its got about 210,000.

Any thoughts on an asking price?

I think it depends a lot on where you're at. Here in Northern California, I've found a couple with factory lockers and mileage in the low 200's and in pretty good shape for around $5k. But, lockers are one of those things that's worth a good bit to me, but probably not to the majority of buyers. If you clean yours up best you can and are able to sell it with it not really needing anything and with everything working, I don't see why you couldn't get $4k for it.

4K is reasonable...I just bought a 1994 with 100K miles in immaculate condition with upgrades for 10K.

I just searched Autotrader for 96 and 97 LCs any distance and got only 15 results. Median price was maybe $6k. These are great rigs and Toyota will never make a million mile engine again.

what did you pay for it.

what have you put into it.

how long have you owned it.

Is it family or are you phishing.

I bought it for 5000 about a year and a half ago. No real upgrades- replace the muffler, front brakes and PS lines- mostly just maintenance items. I bought from a dealer, so I expected to pay a little more for it. Its been a familymobile hauling everyone around and occasionally a boat and a jet ski. I was thinking 4k to 5k, afraid to take it to a dealer to trade because I would get next to nothing for it. I am located in Northern Ohio and you don't see these come-up too often for sale, but I would imagine the consumer base as well has its own limitations, unless they are looking specifically for an LC.
