how much have you hauled with your tacoma

I bought my first tacoma back in april. 2001 4x4 2.7L. was skeptical about the power from the 4 banger but got it anyway due to gas prices. I'm just gonna say I love it. It's the best damn vehicle i've owned.

Anyway so far i've had to haul some heavy loads and it's suprised me. First I hauled over 1000 lbs. of scrap metal to the yard using the bed and a trailer. Pulled it no problem even with the a/c running. I pulled a trailer with about a ton of topsoil on it, strained some on the hills (i live in western NC). Yesterday I used it to put up hay hauled about 100 bales at a time. Did good, it was a load though. My tacoma has the 4.30 gears.

Just curious about what you all have hauled with yours 4cyl and 6cyl.

I have hauled a bed full of green oak fire wood while pulling about another 1000 lbs of green oak on my trailer

THEN I needed to put on an AAL & shackle lift since the factory springs are like butter...

Since then I have pulled a 2000 lb pallet of wood pellets for my stove on the same trailer and (homemade NOT DOT approved!) custom bumper without incident!

BTW that is with the V6...

Just hauled a bed full of busted cement to the dump. Thankfully, I have a set of heavy leafs and bilstein 5100 series shocks in back. the bed was almost touching my tires, but I took it slow and made
it w/ no problems. I sure love my Tacoma for jobs around my house.

Nice rig Pigheaded! Except for the wheels, your rig is identical to my friends down the street. He is the
reason I had to upgrade to the ARB bumper. Made my rig look inferior.

Yeah, I love my ARB...its saved me from lots of tree and rock damage. Now I have a HiLift mounted on top of it. Knowing what I know now I would have just fabbed one up myself, 'cause the ARBs are so expensive. But, at the time I didn't have the equipment for metal fab, and I got a smokin' deal on the bumper from 4 wheel fxxxsticks.

I have hauled 1/2 a chord of firewood with my 07 Tacoma... once before Supersprings and I was sitting on the bump stops and twice since Supersprings and there was about an 1.5" between bump stops and no bottoming out over bumps.

On a regular basis i pull a two slant horse trailer with 1 or 2 horses. Does great on rural roads but freeway speeds (70-80) not so great. Also regularly pull 16ft flatbed with assorted toys and what not on it. I love the 3.4 V6 at least until i can buy a new tundra.

In my 2002 2.7 4 popper, I hauled a 10 cubic yard trailer full of trash once. I also hauled a small UHaul trailer when I moved from Gainesville back to North Lauderdale.

i once did a dump run that came in at just under 3/4 ton, all in the bed. have t100 leafs, and the thing looked stock height in the back, so i could've added more, but had no more room! started to get a little worried i might bend the frame

woo hoo... sounds like we have another Toyota lifer! I recall back in the spring when you were thinking of buying that truck.... great to hear it turned out well for ya!
The comments made me smile as I pretty much love my old 4 runner, does about everything I need, hauling utility trailers with yard waste, branches, furniture what ever.... people, bikes, dogs, canoe...etc. It gets decent mileage and takes me about anywhere I want to go off road.
About the only regret is that i didn't buy one sooner

The worst I have done with my current 05 2.7 4x4 is haul a yard of 3/4" stone. The rear bumpstops were about 1/4" from the frame. Hauled it OK about 10 miles home. Did that 3 times in one day. About the worst overloaded deal I ever did was with the 98 V6 4x4 we had before we traded it in on our 4Runner. I bought my FJ40 right outside of Philadelphia and towed it home on a Uhaul trailer behind that truck. The 40 was full of parts, and so was the back of the truck. Starting on any kind of an incline required the use of low range to get it moving, and the headlights were pointed at the sky. But thanks to staying out of traffic and driving carefully I made it all the way back to NH.

i just used my 01 2.7 4x4 to haul 2400 lbs. worth of Quickrete about 20 miles. i had it split up btween the bed and a trailer. it suprised me how well it did. definately a strain on it though.

running a landscape company, I put a full pallet of sod in it. they say it weights a ton. I had to unload it to try to get the weight more in the middle of the frame. my springs are toast so I won't do that any time soon. my 96 taco with 199K.
