Hello everyone, new to the forum...
Toyota doesn't export Tacomas, 4runners and Tundras to Turkiye. We have EU spec Hilux, LC80, LC100, Prado, LC200, FJ Cruiser etc legally imported to Turkiye. It's possible to find grey market Tacomas and 4Runners lately. But I'm interested on purchasing a 2008 Gen2 Taco, 4Liters V&, with 162K miles on it. It's a rare find in Turkiye and I haven't contacted the owner yet. I have some doubts about the serviceability of this truck in Toyota dealers, parts will not be available in EU and in Turkey. It's only possible from USA and Middle East, and it will be very costly.

I would like to know if 2G Taco shares some interchangeable parts with any of these; LC100, Prado, LC200, FJ Cruiser. Especially 4L V6 engine, transmission (5 Auto) and drivetrain parts? Any ideas?

Thanks for your time...

You might get more traffic posting on tacomaworld.com, the Tacoma section of mud doesn’t get as much engagement as the cruiser sections.

The 1GR-FE V6 is shared with Prados and a few others, there’s a full list in this Wikipedia article.

GR Engines

The auto transmission is an A750F, it looks like it was also used in Prados, Hiluxs, and the D-max. Full list of uses in another Wikipedia article. Manual transmissions are also available, I think most are a 6spd.

A750F

Searching the part number for the rear diff on megazip shows it fitting a Hilux.

Tacomas are notorious for rusty frames, so make sure to look out for that, especially on an import coming from an unknown climate.

It’s funny to hear of someone looking for a Tacoma when the Hilux is available, but I can understand that it’s fun to have something unique. I bet most of us in the US would gladly trade you a Tacoma for a Hilux if we could.

Post some pics here if you end up with one!

Thanks for the info, I'll check tacoma world.
I own a KUN26 3.0L D4D Hilux, and I wouldn't trade it for a tacoma :)) I was looking this tacoma for my ex ( I may be still angry to her)... Any way we decided to go for a Hilux for her too. Have a good weekend.
