How much ya figure to replace and re-grease the steering boots on the 100? One of mine is leaking badly. Thanks!

Fortunately for me I don't know ;)

John, Isn’t this a rack & pinion set up? If so, unfortunately you will need a new rack. Your other option is to have it rebuilt at a trustworthily shop.
I hope this helps.

I can tell you how much it cost to take two pieces of a driveshaft and make it into ONE. :)

;)

Dude! I read you post & feel your pain. But glad the outcome was good and not a Cruiser guy dieing somewhere.
Did you get your drive shaft re-tubed? How did they index it? Or does it matter?

Hi John,

I can refer my mechanic to you. I enjoyed meeting you in Greer. Next time we'll have to get your truck dirty!

I assume that you made it home safely.

Send me your contact information. I'm at darling18@comcast.net

George

I had my boots replaced. I can't rememer specifically what it costs, but I do remember the price of the boots wasn't too bad, but it's fairly labor intensive...like around two or three hours per side.

Yes George....it was a blast meeting you too! Obviously me made it home OK though you should hear my truck!

Toyota's got it now. They should be stand-up and fix the right-front for me at N/C. Bearings, spindle, oh boy.....
We'll see to on the steering boots. Depending on what they say I'll take it to my or your guy. Thanks....we'll see ya again.

You got a SLICK PARTY-DOWN RESORT up there in Greer!
