I have found over many years of DIY that my interest level and time has been inversely proportional to the age of my 3 kids. When we had no kids, I DIY'd all the time and the wifey had no complaints. With 3 little kids, I DIY'd to escape the madness of diapers and bottles, and the wifey understood.
Today with one teen and 2 preteens, I'd rather be coaching their LAX and softball teams, taking our sea kayaks out, or going for a bike ride w the family. There's a small window of time when you can actually do things with them before they're off to college and into the world.
Having said that, I have a host of DIY's I plan to do before HIH7. My strategy is to work on the LC in the evenings a little at a time. I don't have to use it daily so that really helps.
