The alternator just started whining today. I have a 2 day hiking trip tomorrow and my wif wants to take the sequoia to Portland tomorrow...a 300 mile round trip. The alternator charges fine and the battery is 12.5 volts after resting all nite. (The alternator charges at 13.6 which is what it's always done)
will it make it on the trip or do I cancel my trip, let her take the LC to Portland and I replace the alternator. And yes, it's a whine not a squeal. It has 360,000 miles on it and I've changed the alternator once before.
