Here is some boring history - I was born in Pittsburgh, PA and then when I was little we moved a little N of Chicago for dad's work.
Before we moved my parents would take us to Steelers and Pirates games when they were winning a lot. Mean Joe Green, Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, etc.
Three Rivers was not a scenic location. It was steel mills. I remember leaving the stadium at night and the sky would be orange from the foundries. They would have the buildings open and there would literally be fire in the sky. We would stop at a some place for pizza that had peanut shells on the floor and served Iron City beer. Lots of "character."
Then we moved to IL when the Bulls and the Bears were winning. Think Mike Ditka and The Fridge.

When we had our boy he got way into football, so now we watch the games. It was pretty neat to watch the Steelers pull a victory out against the Ravens last weekend. And then last night! IDK if anyone watched the Bears claw their way out of an 18-point deficit to beat the Packers? That was a game! They were down 21-3 at the half. It didn't look good. Bears/Packers as a pretty old rivalry. It was fantastic to see the Bears win in Soldier Field. There was lots of cheese grating mayhem going on in the stands.
Good times!
Love and LaFleur looked fairly stunned after that.

Jamie (wife) refused to leave the restaurant, even though it had closed, until the game was over.

We’re regulars there, and she tips well, I don’t think they minded. Kept asking me to read the time remaining (we were across the room.)

Boys and I built a new pig sty today. Got about 80% done. The roof rack was clutch for a scaffolding. I need to start a thread on the new pig. It’s a definite mixed bag. Love it though!

Daughter took on task of creating euro mount of this buck that was found on backside of our property. Likely shot and lost by hunter on wildlife management area beside our property. Scavengers had drug what was left to our side probably a month after being shot.

She has worked her tail off and it’s going on wall in her room in Ft. Collins when she returns this weekend.

Very cool Jon. My daughter has one mounted that way that she shot while we were hunting together. She didn't put quite as much effort into getting the mount done; "daddy would you pretty please take this to the taxidermist and get him to do a skull mount?"

As a slight aside, I tried to get the taxidermist to do a true European mount which doesn't include the upper jaw and only the upper part of the eye sockets. In the end I gave up as he couldn't quite wrap his head around it. Something like this Red Stag which is pretty much the standard in Europe.
