How hard is it to put a 3B motor to is original place

Hi,

I find my 3B motor decal about 1 inch. I can see the decal on my motor mount.

How did you rate on /5 the difficulty to fix the problem... pull the motor and fix it to is original place. The motor and the tranny mounts don't look broken.. just decal.

Even if I have to change the motor mount how hard is to replace the motor ? I need a lift.. chaine block fix to the ceiling... jack under the truck ?

Help !

By decal (fr. decaler = to shift away from its usual place), I think David means that his mounts have deteriorated to the point that this shift is evident. Correct me if I'm wrong, David...

Hi Dave

If you are not into welding, cutting, fabrication steel, which it sounds like, this is not the type of job you want to try in your backyard. The motor will have to be raised up, enough to cut(torch) out the bad and fab in a new one. Don't jack the engine up on the oil pan. Any welder can do this job, make some calls get some quots and check the other side, it too may be on its way out. You can do the grunt work by lifting the engine- 2hours, then get the hired help to complete the job, I can't tell how long it would take, I'd have to see it. Most welding shops have portable equipment and you can rent gear to lift the engine.
Don't be surprised if your crossmember is bad, you guys see more salt than we do.

mickeyt.. right... decal is not a english word ;)

BJ70/85 - your probaly right. But... for the moment, I don't think the problem is my crossmember. Anyway thank you.

...And for the salt... it's a F*/"!*& calamity.

You probably just need new rubber mounts, right? Not the metal mounts, surely....
If you actually need metal mounts for a 60 series, I have an extra pair you can have; I'm not that far from you here in Ottawa.

MikeyT - you right... Just the rubber... and for your metal mount, I don't need it. (for the moment)... thank ;)
