Once again I need help!!! I have a 1987 FJ60. I had it sitting in storage for years and now "ROXY" is back on the road. Problem is I need to change the PCV valve. ( it looked like oil was seeping/leaking) horrible gas mileage, blowing smoke and other abnormalities. UGH. I took the old one out with pliers and now I can't put the new one in. the old part number(original) was 12204-51012. if I cross reference this with a after market it gives me a part for a 1988 LC. The one that's supposed to fit #PCV1152DL doesn't fit. Its metal on metal pipe coming from the engine(?) Do I hammer it in. Grease it?? I looked everywhere on the forum. PLEASE HELP. THANX. TBONE:crybaby:

i cleaned the old one and put it back in until i can figure it out. I'm guessing if you clean the old one and use it for a while it should be ok. I just drove it for 10 minutes and didn't see any oil leaking like it was this morning. There was a tube that crossed at a "T" that was completely gummed up. i change the hose and it went to the bottom of the air cleaner (?). hopefully this is a good patch.

Buy a new Valve and a new grommet from the dealer. They are far superior to any aftermarket and cheap. They will push in when supple.

This.........just did mine with new PCV and grommet.

Yep, did the same. I had to melt my old grommet out with a torch when I had my side cover off. It was stuck in there good. New one popped right in!

If its tight....I just spit on it
