Im about to install my new bumper and will be mounting my HID lights on it. I plan on ordering a factory switch to go in one of the open blank spots here:

I started messing with it today but could not reach it from the back side and dont want to break any tabs. Whats the best way to pull this plate and install the switch? Or should I just pry out one of the blanks?

Thanks!

You can pry the blanks out from the front but you need to a small thin screwdriver or narrow knife preferably wrapped in thin tape to protect from scratching the front side of the fascia.

Or remove the lower dash panel to access the retention "wings" of the blanks from the backside of the panel...

The blanks can be pried out easily with a low profile flathead screwdriver from the top or bottom.

Edit, simultaneous post. Spresso's pic is worth a thousand words.

Great, thanks for the quick response. I have a couple of the blanks left over from the FJ but thought that plate might pull out like the surround around the stereo.

You can also use a credit card, it's less likely to damage stuff.

I picked up a cheap set of Harbor freight interior body panel tools. They work great and save a lot of wear and tear of the plastic fasteners.

Niiice.

Wait, you have a black 100, ARBs are black...?

So you are painting over the black powder coat with matching black paint of the 100?

Sahara bars are painted like a greyish color. I thought the same thing about the color.

Sahara comes grey, what shade, ill find out tomorrow. My cruiser is black with grey moldings and bumpers, im getting the bumper color matched to the stock bumper for $200.

Ohhh okay that makes more sense. I didn't know they only came in gray.

Picked up the bumper today and the grey powder coat is nicer that the stock grey bumper/moulding so I think I am going to leave it be. Got a switch to go into the blank, not quite what I wanted but its $50 cheaper so I am good with it. I have to fab up a mount for the winch control box and get everything mounted up, pics to follow.
