I need to remove these trips on the door. How do I remove it? Can I simply pop it out or are there screws behind the door?

No screws, just tapered grommets like what hold the door card and a lot of our interior trim in.

Possibly some VHB as well, but I can’t remember specifically whether that was just under the chrome onto the larger trim, or under the trim itself too.

No screws though.. I do remember that.

Thanks! I'm looking to remove the larger trim along with the chrome piece as well.

Removing these is on my weekend agenda. They should just pop off with prying. I think the chrome part has screws depending on MY but the whole thing should pop off in one piece. There is a thread in this with pictures.

Edit: Link

I believe some of the model years have this trim attached with double-sided tape, but other years have actual plastic grommets/clips behind the trim.

I can say from experience getting the chrome parts off the larger trim will probably create new curse words

Awesome! I will check out the link.

On my 2011 LX, it was double sided tape - daughters blow dryer and a pinstripe wheel (to remove adhesive) for a drill - problem solved.

I think 2013 is when the holes/clips started.

Just popped one off.

Easy using plastic pry tools.

Please specify which new curse words you used. FSM is always vague on this.

The really hard part is getting the chrome strips off the parts @kcjaz removed. I did that to wrap them because I didn't trust my ability to tuck the edges.

Next time I'll pay someone

Go plastadip. I did that on the last 200 and it help up well and isn’t hard to do. With the whole panel off it would be even easier as you wouldn’t have to mast the whole side of the truck. I’m going to leave mine off for now but would plastidip them if they go back on.

Popping the moldings off is easy enough. Just go slow and let the plastic pry tool do its thing, i.e. don't just pull from one end and put too much force on the molding itself.

Removing the plastic inserts that remain in the door panel is harder and took me several attempts to figure out a method that didn't destroy them or result in broken plastic falling into the door panel. Here is a video on how I did it:

A couple times I was able to get the pry tool "fork" to push in the clips and the insert game right out. You just need to align the fork properly and to do that you need to see where the clips are. Most of the time, I needed the little screw driver like the video shows.

Next step is installing the Rhino Hide armor.

If they made a pearl white that matched my paint I’d strongly consider it.
