Terry (I hope I got his name right) asked if I would post something on the forum for him.

He wanted to thank everyone for the years of supporting him and his hotdog stand. Terry said that he will be retiring this year. He appreciated all the support over the years and was very thankful.

Just wanted to pass that along.

I hope he's done well for himself and his causes over the years. I think it's great that people can enjoy their time in a remote place and still find a place to grab some grub in the middle of it all. Even better if it's a kindred spirit heading it all up.

Yep. He was a huge Cruiser guy also. Depending on the weather he might still make it back out for the next 2 weekends but that will be it for him. We can just hope the person that buys it from him will be as good.

IIRC, Terry was huge in the Cruiser scene. This was back in the pre-mud LC Mailer list days. I *think he had some back issues and had to get out of the scene. Good dude, no doubt. When I snapped an axle shaft last time, those of us that came out with the splitrail fence trail repair, he INSISTED on free hotdogs for us :D

He'll be missed fo shizzle.

Strangely enough I have never actually seen him. But I had always hear he was a great guy. I'm sure he will be missed.

He used to build some high dollar Cruisers for people back in the day. He had some strange ideas for them but most if not everytime it worked great. Like having a 8274 winch in the middle of the truck with having a way of getting the wire to both the front and rear.

Terry is a great guy and a good friend of mine. He is also very knowledgeable on FJ40s. I've known Terry for about 15 years or so. He's taught me a lot, and is a big part of me being involved in the four wheeling hobby. He built quite a few nice FJ40 trail rigs over the years. Terry was known for spring over axle suspensions and V8 conversions. He also installed a lot of SM465/NP205 combos in FJ40s. He hand fabricated the centered rear diff FJ40 axles for those conversions. He has a knack for finding solutions that most people don't think about, and he does very clean fab work. He worked with PJ at M&M Off-road the past several years helping build some of the nicest buggies in the country. He loves the off-road community and will miss it. But he and his wife are preparing to live their retirement dream.
