earlier hoods are made in two pcs they also have fewer, but longer louvers, than the later one pc hoods. Earlier 2pc hoods also sit lower to the bib on the front edge due to a smaller bend radius.

With the 72 model hood changed from two piece to one piece design. The one piece hoods are taller in the front. The vents on the sides are smaller on the one piece hood. The 2F air cleaner with US emissions does clear the rod to hold the hood open with place it attaches at the back without bending the catch over. The hood down latches on the sides were located further back on the FJ25 and 61 FJ40. Oil bath air cleaners like were imported to the US had a air intake on the drivers side for the air cleaner. 1/75 the hold down for the windshield change because of the wiper motor being at the bottom of the windshield and on the outs side. The later hoods had a frange added in the front center to stiffen the area were the gap is between the hood and bib. For some reason the 72 model shows as a one year only hood. Have yet to figure out what's different from the 73/74 hoods. Someday I'll be able to get to my spare hoods. I know I have 71, 72 and hoods buried.
