We would go to UCR race, but somebody already signed up our team for the April Gingerman LeMons race.

Please do another UCR race later in the year. We will be there.

Oh wait, I just looked at the new improved UCR website. There is a September race date! Woot!

That's funny, I am still yelling at guys to fix cars.
Freaking swamped.
Dave

You guys can have some of my economic slowdown if you like...

Jim, are you hiring? Wanna farm some of that non-carburator work out? :hillbilly:

Nick

Wanna come put a fuel pump in my 62 tonight??
all the beer and pizza you can handle??
and you can have the priveledge of hanging out on my couch tonight!

at least I think it is, FPR replaced. Modulator screw is tight, Filter is new. Will be doing the jumper trick and pulling the trim panel to look for wiring chafing tonight after work.
Dave

Sure Dave. I'll be right there. Just go ahead and get started...I'll finish'er off for ya when I get there...in Sept. in time for the fall race at Nelson Ledges. ;)

Not sure if it will help but I have a 62 with a new fuel pump in it. I can part with the pump in about a week if you can drive the 40 for a week. I know all about busted wires on those. Jim can tell you about watching my brother recrimp all the wires in the driver's side rocker where the harness connector failed. IIRC there are at least 12 wires or more going through there. ALL were broken...

Good luck with your project. Yes, I would help if I were not 5-6 hours away. Love to check out your library again and maybe write down a few titles I need to check out from the library this time. My memory ain't what it used to be...

Nick

no worries,
Pulling off the drivers side panel and putting 12 volts to the pump before I drop the tank. No love with the FP to B+ test so it is either wiring or the pump. I have a jump box and some wires, Wish me luck.
Dave

woo hoo!!
So power direct to the pump made it fire. So not the pump, Found the issue in the drivers side kick panel under the jack bracket, The 4 pin plug there was completely fragged. As in melted and smells of smoke. found a 6 pin plug off a wiring harness I had at the shop and with a little persuasion and shrink tube the 62 is alive again. Damn lucky it failed where it did and did not burn anything up. pretty easy to work on it when it dies at the shop.
Dave.

I started this nonsense and will derail it to my own discretion.

Fuel gauge was spiking on me last night, I think I need to revisit my repair....... Runs great though.
Dave

nice derail... You shop-bound today Dave? I gotta do stuff in the neighborhood and thought I would stop by to say howdy.

I was,
Now I am again, this weekend I have off.
Next weekend, the 10th I am in.

Changing my leaky wheel cylinder, only to find out my extra must have been from an earlier model....exciting huh
