Well, it was hot all weekend. Too hot to go out wheeling in Phaedrus' FJ40.
Do you have an FZJ80 w/ lockers? If you do, we could wheel in that, w/ bottle chilling in the console cooler, grooving to smooth jazz and twisting the OhCr4p! knob when the trail gets bumpy.

At least, that's how I assume wheeling an FZJ80 works.

We went up to lakewood area today to meet up w/ John and look at his nice 81 FJ40. I might do some overdue maintenance stuff on it, but it's a very nice truck otherwise. Then we walked around the metropark a little and tossed the dog in the river. He didn't sink, so he's a witch.

Sounds like a good time Jim,
Wheeling was hot and dusty. Taught the Girlfriend to drive a stick (Low range in the sand is very forgiving) and discovered an FJ40 is the perfect platform for going to fireworks. You pull up to a good spot about 1/2 a block from the fireworks, Fold down the windshield and watch them. As soon as the finale hits you fold the windshield back up and get out before the traffic Jam starts in full force.

And I only ever wheeled my FJ80, It was not an FZJ so no wine chiller. But you left out the Brie and crackers. Otherwise spot on in your thoughts of Wheeling luxury style. Alas the FJ80 stayed in Salt Lake and I brought the 40 here.
Dave

Wheeling an FZJ80= drive fast, slam on brakes, roll rig, rebuild, continue bashing the crap out of it on rocks.

No wine, though I do have a 60L NorCold with lots of Red Stripe...

Onur,
I can appreciate redstripe and all but for Gods sake, You have access to New Belgium Brewing. Something that I am dying for out here in the flat lands.
FWIW,
I only rolled my first 80 back in 01, After that I had my 92 for 6 years with no rolls.
Dave

Yes, I fix Cruisers. :wrench:

I'm located north of Lancaster on Rt37.

That's a nice looking FZJ80 you got.

Ok we are back to this thread again....:D

Jim you forgot about me after the race...:frown:

If you have a passenger fender that is decent, I guess i'm going to need to come see you anyway...

Well,
Not a lot going on up north as far as cruisers. I have only had mine out wheeling 3 times this year. Moved to Lakewood and put the top and doors on my truck for the first time in two years. Aside from losing the lower floor catch its just a bit weird driving with the top on.

and on another note, For all the northeasters. Jeepskool will be open in November, Due to personal Bull**** it may be the last one. I think I will be getting my freshly cleaned truck dirty again.

Jim and I looked for a trans mount in both his pile and mine. Neither of our piles had one that we could see. There might be one in the dark recesses of Jim's shop but we weren't in the mood to go diggin' for it after the race.

I seem to have scrapped all the FJ60 sheetmetal I had so I can't help with that either. Jim might have a fender or two.

Well thanks for looking...
