Hole in floor

I went to replace the fuel pump and when I had the carpet up, on the pass. side middle seat there is a hole without a plug. There is a round piece of carpet in the hole that was wet. Should there be a plug there?

#1 hole
#2 the round piece of carpet
#3 wet spot on the carpet

I put a piece of pink duck tape over the hole for now.

I'm pretty sure that my 97 does not have that.

You are missing a body plug. Look on the other side to see if it is there. They often have the part number moulded into them.

The other side had a plug with a wire in the plug that goes from the cab to under the cab.
I will have to go to autobody supply store and find a plug.
The carpet that was on the hold had a hard backing that looks like it was ment to be there. It must be there to let water out when the sunroof drains plug and the cab fills with water.
I have seen other holes that have a tape that covers them. It must be a tape that when it gets wet it comes off to let the water out. One is in the rear quarter pannel.
