I would gladly sell you my stock rear coils. TUT price. :D I also have stock torsion bars available. I might have to snowshoe in to my parts shed to get them but I could do that on the weekend if you want them.

I would get a couple of coil packs as trail spares.

You should get an ODB2 reader of some sort. I like the ScanGauge a lot because it lets me do constant monitoring.

I will caution you against the original Toyo AT...after blowing through two sets (285/75R18) and not getting but ~ 20k miles out of either of them for tread wear life that's just an insult; however they are tough for puncture resistance! I purchased the new Toyo ATII mainly because they came with, in my size, 50,000 mile tread wear guarantee. OTOH my rig has literally a ton on your's so maybe my experience is related. Crap...I get 32,000 miles out of my MT/R Kevlars!!! Just my 2 cents.

I think I still have my original coils...they have around 73,000 miles on them. You can have them for the shipping charge if you want them. Let me know if you want them then like yooper I'll go digging :)

yoop has a thing for canuck merlot so i'll take him up on his offer as i know how to pay him back. i will get a diameter measurement on the stock tbars and compare. i've read conflicting stuff about whether lx tbars are thinner or not.

i saw mixed feedback on the open country at then i got a decent quote late in the day for revo ats and will go with those since i have a spare. this will be my third set. they are a great snow tire.

if anyone wants to see what a lowered lx on 33s looks like...

What year is your LX?

The large passenger side bushing is easy to replace. I recommend using SuperPro for this...much more durable than OEM.

so dan says this is not available oem as a separate part. supepro is a poly bushing. how does it affect steering? i do not like the effect of ome poly caster bushings on an 80.

and is this the right part set? i see too many small bushings to fit in the available hole.

Well they used to be available from Toyota because I bought one.

Regardless...I'm not a fan of poly/urethane bushings for rotating or twisting applications where articulation is the goal.

But in this application, IMO, the poly bushing is THE choice. Its an anchor type support/interface...no movement. It will hold up WAY better than OEM rubber with near zero cush compromise factor.

Get the SuperPro.

My morning adventure. 6" of fresh on top of unkown depth and consistency weird old snow on the road into our cabin, decided not to try driving in since I was alone. Snowshoes instead. (I've been stuck on this road twice before.)

We won't be going out there to stay for a while yet. This is the driveway at the cabin.

My factory torsion bars are 28.7mm, compared to the 25.5mm ones on semlin's LX:

and the exciting conclusion:

yoop: where are you located?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yooper

Or from the Urban dictionary;
Yooper is a common term for residents of the Upper Penisula of Michigan. It is derived from the initials U.P. which is pronounced you-pee. U.P. stands for Upper Peninsula, as opposed to the lower peninsula of Michigan.

It is not a derogortory term. It is used mainly by residents of lower Michigan and Wisconsin.

The term is actually used equally among residents of the lower states and the U.P., or perhaps more so up here. It's a term of honor and endearment for the locals; most yoopers wouldn't live any where else.

We call the people who live downstate "trolls" because they live "below the bridge".

We laugh that the Traverse City area is called "Northern Michigan" because the southern U.P. starts north of there.

ooh, those are shiny. thanks for the hike sean!

i see you have mentioned whiteline poly bushings in a couple of threads. i can source these in canuckistan. are they as good as super pro?
Both brands are reputable as a whole but I don't know how the steering bushings compare side by side to the SuperPro's. I'd be interested to know though since the whiteline's are about half the price.

that is only on the whiteline website which then ships from oz at huge shipping costs. to buy them locally it is $70cdn.

i am told they are poly bushings and mainly ordered here for subaru racks.
