Seems like the only difference is the Miller has infinite wire speed and infinite voltage, while the Hobart has I think 6 preset voltage levels.

The hobart has many internal miller parts as well...

Just wondering if that was the only difference and if the Miller is worth the extra coin over the Hobart...

Should be gettin a welder for christmas:D -only want to buy once.

Thanks.

Bailey...

We use all Miller's at the metalshop I work at.

Give "kirk" a PM--he can give you useful info. He's my boss.

I was welding 3/4 conduit this weekend with .024. On a 175 millermatic. WHen it's that thin the infinite control is your friend. It's the difference between it burning through and not getting enough penetration. IMO

Hey Baily,
FYI Northern tool usually runs a 25% off coupon prior to Christmas in the Atlanta paper. I think there is a limit of up to $200. I bought my Hobart 140 for a little over $400.

The Hobart 180 only has 4 preset voltage levels plus a purge setting, and infinite wire speed. Get the Miller so we can compare the two. :flipoff2:
