HJD80 Full time 4wd?

I'm under the impression that the US spec. 80 series are full time 4wd. If this is true does the Japanese Spec 80 series (HJD80 or 81 is it?) have full time 4wd? If it does what are your thoughts on this system? Does your fuel milage drop because of this? Anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong and let me know your 2 cents.

There are '80 series 'Cruiser without full time 4WD here in Central America. Full time 4WD will cost you economy. I don't know about the Jap spec. '80 series, never seen one.

HDJ 80 in europe are full time 4WD, and with either central differential or visco coupler, onto which they' ve mounted an elocker from 92 onwards.

JDM 80 diesels were available with part time 4WD. Turbo and n.a. until mid 1993, n.a. only from then on.
