So just back from a holiday in Norway, the old girl managed 11ltrs per 100 about 25 miles a UK gallon ... its all low speed as the max speed limit is 80 kph... coming back through Germany it was upto 12.5 ltrs per 100 cruising between 95 and 110... fitted with a 2H

Now I just need to get the cruise speed upto 110 kph then I'm happy... but first I need to check all the bearings, they started to sound very unhappy...

Clutch OK ... tappets need adjusting, needs a compresson check and clean or renew the injectors...

cheers

Ahh I like the even popup, I guess you have a sleeping platform up there…

Do you ever open the rear side windows when touring or camping ? I haven’t yet and are afraid they are just letting rain water into my inner sills… thinking of blocking at least two … making her also a little more secure..

Next jobs are water proofing my canvas and installing some form of heating … geez it gets cold ..

Cheers

Pop Top

Yes you can sleep 2 up top and 2 down the bottom. The canvos is very thick and at 8am you think its still dark. I dont drive with the rear windows open as its noisy and the AC keeps coller. I fitted fly screan to the frount two by using 2 way tape, put on the window frame and put the flyscrean on that. Wasent sure how long it would stay their, 4 years and 35000km and still their. When we are camped i open them. They do get cool inside, but i havent had it in the snow yet.

Cheers Ian

poptop troopy

Hi guys great to see some more poptop troopys. I have one I am slowly building for touring Aus. Looking at fitting a PTO winch but having trouble finding the right bullbar. If anyone knows the best bar to fit a thomas PTO let me know.

Sounds like a good trip. I know some like the idea of a PTO winch(Im one) but the electric winches these days are so cheap and available and the quality's not bad if you know which one to get.

My old girl was converted by TRAKKA, great to see they are still going and with the same design ... I contact them a few years ago about the history of my car, shame they didn't hold records of the chassis's / dates and customers ...

cheers
