61MK+ good to know I will buy an f250 7.3L one day. Oz the 12ht doesn't need the glow screen hooked up that for sure mine started as you hit the key even in the snow. My 12ht had both of the throttle springs brand new and they didn't help in my case in my hj75 half accelerate peddle was full throttle on the motor so I unwoun the stop bolt in the floor to stop the pedal going right to the floor and pulling the cable off the pump that's why I suggest doing the mod that I didn't finish before I sold mine that is to make up a throttle extension arm on the pump a damper only stops the throttle arm from going instantly back to idle which doesn't really matter when your in gear.

Thanks guys.
I will try and get it wired up for peace of mind when traveling around as it does get cold in some locations downunder. Wong did you run a return line to the tank or splice it into the fuel line. My plan is to run a extra line back to the tank to help with fuel pump cooling. I will need to drop the tank and replace the pick unit from a later hzj75.

Chappo
Thanks for the tip on the touchy throttle but I find it strange that Toyota would go to the trouble of fitting the 12 volt glow screen if it's not needed downunder. I'm hopping the Sahara will arrive today as I'm keen to have a good look and listen to the engine. :)

I am hearing this alot. I have heard extra springs ?

and this : Bj73 with 12ht

@watrob What did you do?

Watrob ran the damper with extra spring also.
Billy was your engine a auto like mine if so the fuel pump is set up different to the manual transmission so we may get the touchy throttle even worse.

Not to worry old mate nothing like kangaroo jumping from every set of lights. I heard there's a nice 4 speed auto that bolts into our trucks that will make it very smooth on take off on and off road. :)

Thanks guys.

Yes. I did run a return line.
I believe HZJ75 has larger size pipe line.
BTW , I never have issued cranking up 12H
under extremely cold weather. This is thumb up for DI engine.

Hi mate your correct the hj75 with 2h has 8mm feed line and the 12ht and hzj75 has 10mm feed line with a return to tank for injection cooling. My guess at this stage is the return will be 8mm but stay tuned as have the hzj pickup coming. :)

I have been working on the 12ht trying to determine what I thought was a pale blue smoke on start up. Thankfully it turned out to be a faulty injector causing the light grey smoke but I'm not sure how number 5 cylinder will go at this stage weather it got wash down from leaking or sticking injector. I will pull all injectors this weekend for testing and rebuild if needed.

Thanks it's a slow process as I try to get everything ready for registration plus trying to keep it stock for the weigh bridge ticket. Once that's done I can start adding bull bar, winches etc . I just got back from having my injectors checked and there all cracking/squealing at 180 kg with a good spray pattern so just in spec according to my manual 180 - 210 kg. I'm still trying to locate the right fitting to do a compression test before I pull the engine next weekend but it's looking like I need to give engines Australia a call for a kit. :)

I just finished the comp test
1 320
2 340
3 285 + oil 420
4 360
5 230 + oil 330
6 360
It's time to pull the engine and rebuild. :)

Put a Gturbo and intercooler on it as you go.

Would be nice

1 step at a time my friend as this point its not going to be a cheap exercise but you never know I may get lucky and only need pistons and bearings with no machining work just cylinder honing.
I got quoted $8.200 for a complete rebuild with 12 month warranty but hopping to get out of it for less doing it myself.

I will try this twin scroll manifold and twin scroll TD05 turbo after it's on the road with front mount intercooler. :)

I dragged the 60 into the driveway and started to strip her down so if you guys want to see her internals I'm happy to take a few pics of the strip down and planed rebuild.
I'm hopping the engine will only need a good hone with alfin slugs but until the head comes off it's a guessing game. :)
