Hey Ozzy,

When does the big bullbar and fat wheels go on?

That's ridiculous but I like the ute its on. One day I will buy a 7.3 power stroke

I took the old girl for a spin and everything is fine with the drive train no clunks, wines or wobbles and not jumping out of gear. Not bad at all very happy with how tight she is after 30 years of work. The mighty 2H draft horse may need some extra atmosphere to get the old bones moving along a little faster in the 2015 rat race. :)

Looking good.....
It's a known fact, that the 75 Series is the coolest of all of the 70 Series. :)

I brought a 12ht for the hj75. 280.000 K :)

The Umbilical cord is attached to the sahara at this stage. ;)

The unfortunate side is that for every 12ht transplant it requires the death off a 60 series. :(

May the 60 series rest in peace......................what's happening with the rims?

Not sure at this stage mate if they fit my truck probably keep them as they have new tyres but I have 3 sets of rims with good rubber in the shed already. Once I get the truck home I let you know if its worth keeping on the road or strip it out to sell. :)

Wise choice of engine 12H.:)

Hi Wong
I done my home work and it's was way cheaper to fit a 12ht even if it needs a rebuild plus me being a trucker for the last 45 years also steered me towards old school dependability. The more I read on the old 12ht makes me think of my days driving a old plastic fantastic Atkinson with a GM 892TTA. :)

The only dislike of 12H engine is the sensitivity of throttle cable.
To remedy it by adding extra spring.
In a nut shell , no complaints engine.

I've been doing lots of home work on this engine install and found how to wire up the glow screen and shut down flap with the stock 2h wiring thanks to Watrob and BJ40green.
Cheers guys.
I never new anything about the touchy throttle delemah until after pulling the trigger on the Sahara so from my home work to date indicates the second spring + dampener with maybe a longer throttle pull on the pump. Hopefully the truck shows up Monday so I can see what I have brought sight unseen. :(

Wish me luck :)

I found the 12HT, in my old HJ61 (not much difference to the Sahara), to be a wonderful engine. In a ute like yours, it should provide lovely grunt. Wonghentsin, i concur completely with your comment on the sensitivity of that engine; it made it a challenge to be a smooth driver; nice to know there's a fix for that.
I really wish i could afford to keep my old Toyota 4x4's, including the '89 4Runner i used to have (5-speed, 2.4 litre four-banger, a bullet-proof beast, too bad about the rust in southern Ontario). A great car, the old 4Runner.

Ozcruiser, i am not one for utes or pick-ups, but yours is one attractive beast.
Chappohj47, the Ford 7.3 Powersmoke was an engine made by International, and they are excellent engines; my experience of them is one of excellent power, frightening fuel consumption, and excellent reliability. If i remember correctly, they are also one of the types of engines that can be rebuilt without being removed from the vehicle. And there are, in North America at least, any number of bits and bobs that can be installed to make them produce stupid power and torque.

Good luck on your attempt.
For 12H DI engine, you don't really need to wire up the glow plug. No glow connection for my 12H, no issue with cranking.
It cranks up instantly once the starter hit.
