I have done the unthinkable, i sold my 1984 bj42.....
.....but, i am hoping to starting up a troopy overlander rebuild.
Currently i am considering a 1980 hj45.
During the rebuild i would like to replace the engine and transmission, just to get a more economic drive (and keep the mrs a little happier with running costs).
I have been reading through as many previous posts as i can, but i just cant seem to find quite what i am after.
That said i am curious to see what people would think would be the most appropriate engine for an overlander build? Whilst i will definitely be going off road, the idea is more about getting to some amazing places more so than that of sport 4X4.
Also if anyone has any tips or anything i should watch out for (or what i am getting myself into) that would be great!
