While taking a pictue of my add a leafs for another thread I noticed this electrical connector. On the right hand side of the vehicle, behind the transfer case. Followed the wire up under the drivers seat (RHD). Any ideas?

That is actually kinda dirty. I went bombing down some powerline trails this weekend with my kids and haven't washed it yet. I got some of natures pinstriping on the paint too.

I won't look so great when I get it oiled before winter... that why I'd like to ID this wire before I oil it.

Creetings from Finland!! This is my first message:cool: All HJ60s and 61s here are diesels and factory equipped with water separator. It has his own warninglight: rightside of the diff lights.

Just couple weeks ago I got airleek trough it. Ofcourse it was raining, middle of nowhere and midnight... Original is VERY expensive. So now I have basic and inexpensive separator bolted firewall in engineroom.

Hei HJ60 from finland!

Lately i've been trying to read the cruiser forums from your country, looking for a pair of "lukkoakselit" (locking axles) for my 61! If ever you see some, PM me! Kiitos paljon.
Expat, HJ60 seems right, this could be the water separator wire.

Best regards.

Max.

You would need to find out the wiring colours and find what out what that other wiring above does then find somethong thats cooresponds in a schematic.

My cruiser has 10-20 connectors that do nothing. Toyota make one wiring layout and fit it to all cruisers so accessories and options relevant to any zone can be plugged in.

Did the European HJ61's get a water separator? I have not seen one on a JDM HJ61. BJ74's do have them in the engine bay.

I've not thought to look if the harness has the plug-in for one...Have to do that next time I am underneath one.

Greg, you'd be surprised what the wiring harnesses are capable of! My '82 BJ60 which is a Canadian production has the wiring harness for factory A/C, factory power antenna and factory headlight washers! As you know, none of those was an option for that year in Canada.

I've got the factory power antenna from an FJ62 and A/C from an A/C equipped BJ from a later year hooked up and working. When I get a headlight washer valance I'll hook that up too (I've got most of it plugged in except the relay).

Hi everybody!

Greg, mine has a water separator. It was a Italian 61! With also AC an LSD, power windows and central locking and an electric antena. I'm after the lockers and a PTO, might have found the axles with lockers cables etc for 1200 zoros + shipping from finland to france.

Bye.

Max.

I also have a water factory separator in my HJ-60 VX .. with power windows, spring on seats, power antena, power locks .. and bla bla bla ..
