Awesome wondered how my arb would really hold up. Came close to hitting a deer or two but haven't connected yet. They are thick as hell around here

these ones live basically in my yard, in city limits.

Midtex is correct. ALL deer have antlers. This includes elk, moose, etc. Mountain sheep and goats etc have horns.

That said, awesome how little damage there was. In my area it's illegal to take a deer you hit for food. Such a stupid law.

I think this is worthy of mentioning. ARB reached out to me on Mud and offered to not only replace the broken fog light insert, but threw in a pair of fog lights as well. No cost to me. What's really cool is that they did this through a PM, which tells me they were appreciate of me mentioning how well their product stood up to real world abuse and were not interested in the whole world knowing of their generosity. You just don't see that type of loyalty and long term thinking from vendors these days. I was impressed and will remain a loyal ARB customer for what it's worth.

Great Thread. My wife just thinned the deer population in our '01 LC. It still had a stock bumper and an 80-100 pound deer caused $4K worth of damage. I get the it back from the shop tomorrow and am going to install the ARB bumper that I picked up yesterday. Luckily the shop will credit me for the bumper and labor that I told them not to install.

I've hit five deer on the highway in Michigan, totaled two cars and did plenty of damage to others. Put an ARB bull bar on my 80 and drove it for many years without a single deer incident, apparently they have magical deer-repelling powers.

I've been going back and forth about adding an ARB to my 100 as I've had many close calls with deer in the past and back in November of 2011, my luck finally ran out...I had just gotten on the turnpike heading to Tulsa Ok from Oklahoma City, and had a young buck leap over the center divider landing directly in front of me. Never really saw it coming and was lucky he didn't come through the windshield! What isn't apparent in the picture, are the ripples left in the roof skin around the sunroof..ended up being around $14k in damage...

It's weird. I had a similar experience with my Jeep Cherokee. I put an ARB bar on it in 2003... finally hit a deer with it in 2013, after hitting many deer regularly with other vehicles previously. The deer just bounced off - some residual tufts of hair but no damage. I was doing about 80 km/h on a back road and the bugger jumped out from the ditch before I could do anything. Figured I was going to lose the passenger side turn signal and headlight and was shocked to see zero damage.

It's going to be the first mod on a 100 once I pull the trigger on one.

The ARB on the 80 has paid for itself a few times just like this. Shopping for a 100 now and it will definitely get protection up front as well.

I hit a few deer with my ARB. Needless to say I am eating dinner and they are not. Held up remarkably well and paid for itself on the rocks and on the roads. My next 100 will be equipped with one within a month.

I mean, it is called a bull bar for a reason! Good to know its not just marketing fluff.

Saw a Corolla hit a Moose near MacDonald Creek in Glacier. The moose limped off (she was fine), the Toyota was towed away. That's my number one reason for wanting a front bumper in Colorado.

Only time I hit a deer was in a new 350Z. Clip the foot it flipped over my car and hit its head, died instantly. Did not leave a mark on my car, two good old boys stopped behind me asked if they could have the deer, said great and drove off. That was when I lived in Atlanta, they were every where.

OP, you should send these pictures to ARB, would be good marketing for them, ARB is DEER PROOF

Moose have a high center of gravity...really dangerous to hit in comparison to a deer...They also weigh a lot more. I would hate to see a 100 hit a full size moose, irrespective of bumper

I can attest to the strength of the ARB. I hit an abandoned Mitsubishi Montero on a snow/ice covered hill with my FJ60. $7000+ in damage to the Mitsubishi. $0 damage to the ARB or the FJ60. Speed of collision was under 15 mph.

They actually reached out to me to thank me for the post and sent me an ARB "care package". Was not intending for this to happen, but was appreciative of their generosity.
