I searched but only found some Hitchgate Solos on 100s. Anyone use the Offset version? Any pics or issues? Found a used one and considering it due to my uses of my 100.

The concern is:
  • Vehicles need at least 10.5″ of clearance from top of hitch to bottom of rear door/tailgate
My dimension is exactly 10.5” from the top of the hitch to the bottom of the door so this might not work.

I had one, but sold it because it was cumbersome. It was a hassle getting into the back of the truck and my wife couldn’t do it by herself.
I’m not sure I understand the question, but I’m willing to answer anything you ask.

Was this the Offset version? I guess I am confused bc it says on their site that the top of the hitch should be more than 10.5” to the bottom of the rear tailgate. Looks like it would work fine thoug.

If yours is the Offset, did you have any issues with it touching the tailgate or anything?

Yes, this was the offset version. It was an exact fit with the factory hitch on my 98 LC. If I look at the pictures above, especially the second one, you can see how well it fit. In order for the hatch to open, the hitchgate has to be opened and swung away from the truck. I hope this helps.

So their site says the new version is not compatible with LCs....weird. They had a Classic Offset version...and now they have the New Offset...

  • The Hitchgate Offset is not compatible with vehicles with Clam-Shell Rear doors (Toyota Land Cruisers, Lexus LX Series, Etc.)

I wonder if cops would give you crap that the spare tire basically covers the rear license plate with that kinda setup.
