Hilux Surf winch control?

it looks identical to the one on the 81 series... whew, thank goodness. you had me worried for a moment there...

It is very different to the one I got for my 80, winch part number is different, AS450 where as mine is the A1 1000 which explains the confusion I had with the rating. Nice little winch though and will probably work at more than is rated at, plus if you fit a snatch bolck to double the wire, it will double the load pretty much so should easily drag the Runner out of trouble as long as it's not too stuck or uphill.

Winch on my HZJ75

Hi all,
I've got the same remote control, but my winch looks different. My LC is an HZJ75. The winch is so worn out that the only thing I can read is the winch motor plate (Model #38600-60060). I don't know the specs of the winch. If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks!

That's the same Winch as Mine, Aisin A1000. Rated to 3600KG on a 3 line pull.

You can still get these refurbished and as I understand it they are very strong and even though the rated pulling power is low for a 70 or 80 series, it will do it all do, albeit slowly as the 1 line pull speed is not great.

Only problem I have found with mine is that the cable is connected to the drum in a way that is Toyota Specific and as I want to replace the Wire cable with synthetic, I need to get a custom end made up to fit it. Will also need to fab up something to mount an alloy Hawse rather than the standard steel fairlead.

Still I'll get around to it in the end.

The AS1000 is an awesome winch , I had one on my LJ78 awesome winch. It has more pulling power in single line than my 24v M8000 that I have on my BJ74 I should post some old pics what I put that prado through (threw) If it is getting noisy pull the planetary part off and use AEROSHELL 17 or a very high grade MOLY it will work just fine.
