Instead of dropping a pic or two a day on the site for a few weeks, will post up the good ones here all in one place.

Not gonna try and do a full writeup I don't think. Just some pics and short explanations.

Left out about 10am today, @gxgonz and I out of Monroe. Had thoughts of making Amarillo but decided to crash in Childress instead. That pretty much made today and tomorrow be about the same time on the road.

Meeting one more rig here tomorrow, then the 3 of us are headed to Albq., staying the night there.

Meeting up with 3 more trucks Thurs morning for the last 5 hours up to Ouray.

Nothing of note today really. Except it was crazy hot and it appears that I lost a full mpg with the addition of the winch and front bumper. Ate at Maxie's in Childress. Had potential but was not real good.

Oh yeah my CB mic shorted out today (thx for checking to see if you had one @Fireman ) so I'm sans-cb right now. I will have to check with the powers that be but I'm pretty sure with no cb I can't call this an overlanding trip.

I went somewhere in Childress once that was really good.

CBs are one of the main reasons I get antsy about groups. I had a guy ruin a day in Moab with one.

Thank you for the updates. I for one will be hanging on to every post.

Met up with Josh from Nola and rolled out of Childress about 9am headed toward Abq. 50miles west of Amarillo when the terrain changes it dropped from 95 to 75 in 10 minutes. Windows down radio up...

Just stopped for lunch in a small town in NM. Trying to eat at all local places. This one was really good.

Holed up in Abq, short day on the road today, only bout 7 hours.

Cannot put into words how awesome it is to be out of the 102* heat I left.

Ran into some rain outside Abq, got a shot of that. Past that nothing to report. Things will start getting good tomorrow...right about the time I lose service until Sunday.

Oh, and this is now officially an overlanding trip again. Got my CB mic fixed at a CB shop that we saw on the side of the road...after 3 stops at truck stops that yielded nothing. Apparently you can't buy replacement mic's for cheap/s***ty Uniden CBs.

The place was crazy shady. Some 6'8" giant (that looked like Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs) and his wife apparently lived in the shop. Smoke was so thick it cut down visibility to like 4'.

Guy charged me $10, the whole time making fun of my city boy CB under his breath. I gave him $20, thanked him, and hauled ass.

Overlanding status restored.

Get a dozen. Put on manifold when needed.

I cooked my last one the Monday morning after I got them on the Wed headed out and it was as good as new.

Brisket. Egg. Cheese.

Met up with the three TX trucks about 9am and hit the road. Just north of Abq on 550 is where the scenery starts to get good. Saw an armored up Humvee at our last stop, was cool to check out up close.

Gonna make a final stop in silverton in about an hour then will be out of service for a while.

Last pic is the fog coming off the mountain where we met this morning. Really wish I had a time lapse of that. Was awesome to watch.
