Correct...there are very few places on a stock GX.

My bumpers and sliders give me plenty of places on all sides though! :)

Thanks for the replies Frankencruiser and Dan.

What? I can't hook a high-lift jack to the stock running boards?

I'm liking the sliders idea!

Already started the snowball down the hill by ordering (5) 285/70/17 Continental AT3's and (5) Konig Six Shooters. (Got that idea from woody's thread.) Lift, sliders, and rear bumper are on the shopping list. WHY, WHY, did I EVER start reading this stupid forum!

Any other options for jacks? I have sliders so that eases lifting point options?

ALSO, can you guys show some pics of how & where you store it? I use mine as a daily driver and often have the cargo area full on weekends with kids/family stuff. But gotta have a way to change a tire - never going to know when you need it.

I have the Hi-lift with the lift mate. Luckily, I have't had to use it yet. Getting sliders and bumpers really is the most versatile way to add lift points. I keep my jack on the side of my rack.

I used J-hooks and blocks of wood to mount mine the back of the seats via the LATCH mounts. Fits a 48" hi-lift back there believe it or not :)

Should probably add this to the $100 mod list:

Show us more on your mount. Anywhere on the interior is in the way. Thanks!

Hi-lift is one of the most dangerous ways to change a tire.

I've never used one FWIW, have a 60" highlight for my 80 series and lift from the slides and 'cruisin bumpers. I think @Fantom has one though. Not sure how well they work, but for a delicate GX they should be good ;)

And if you do get a highlift and happen to store it on your rig outside (bumper mount or whatever), would be wise to keep the mechanism's lubricated and covered (like with the cover accessories they sell). Unlike mine which I have to fight with every time as I curse and swear vowing to grease it before the next outing but never do.

I've got an exhaust jack and used it many times. If you think a hi-lift is unstable these are worse. It's an unsupported air bag. At least a hi-lift goes on a rail. Having said that, it's an awesome jack for the right occasion. It's worked great in many applications that any other jack would not work in but it is a dangerous tool and mainly used for recovery not as "just a jack".
